09/01-09/23: PNB x International Rescue Committee Refugee Relief Drive
We partnered with the International Rescue Committee in Atlanta for our September Project, our largest one yet! We organized a supply drive via Amazon wishlist to gather much-needed supplies to make hygiene kits, with volunteers able to directly send personal care products. With nearly 50 orders, we were able to collect 3614 total hygiene supplies and make 300 kits (126 men, 126 women, 48 children) containing shampoo, conditioner, soap, body lotion, combs, razors, lip balm, maxi pads, face masks, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and floss.
In total, we made 300 hygiene kits and 38 dental kits for the IRC. These will be distributed to arriving refugee families from areas experiencing crisis globally, including Afghanistan, Syria, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, who will be living in Georgia with the IRC's support.
We are incredibly grateful to all volunteers and organizations who were able to purchase wishlist items to help these refugees in need (a special shoutout to the volunteers from MEDLIFE @ University of Georgia, who helped us with packaging kits)! Each purchase was a significant contribution to our project and cause.
